We are pleased to invite you to the fascinating world of climbing with us!

Welcome to Armenia and to one of its beauties – the top of Azhdahak mountain.

Azhdak is an extinct volcano, the highest point of the Gegham Range, 3597 meters high above sea level. It is the third highest mountain in the territory of modern Armenia.
At the top of the mountain there is a crater filled with water – a nameless lake.

In Persian, Azhdahak means giant, huge, powerful, large. In Armenian mythology – is the creater of vishup (dragons)

In the vicinity of the volcano, many petroglyphs of the Bronze period (2 thousand BC) were discovered – rock paintings carved on the rocks, as well as the idols of Vishup. Depicted are people in hunting and racing scenes, as well as astronomical bodies and phenomena: the Sun, the Moon, star constellations, fireballs, comets and lightning.

In the summer season, you can go uphill in one day, only on condition that you drop into the foot of the mountain on off-road vehicles and there is no snow on the approaches.

Trekking period: June – September
